During vaginal deliveries, both the vagina and vaginal opening can stretch enough to accommodate the baby’s head. It can return to its usual shape, but there are cases where it may become wider (than before) after childbirth. This is especially true if you had a big baby, a baby with a big head, or several deliveries.

Vaginal-Looseness-After-Childbirth

Instances like these could make it less likely for your vagina to return to its previous state 100%. This is not a certain thing for all women, but some report a feeling of looseness in the area and constant feelings of vaginal laxity. This sometimes lead to diminished sensation during intercourse and reduced sexual satisfaction.

If you’re experiencing vaginal laxity after childbirth, you may be wondering if there is anything you can do to address it. Well, the right exercise and aesthetic treatment can help address your concerns, which may include improving vaginal laxity.

Kegel (or pelvic floor) exercises

These exercises help tone both the vaginal and pelvic floor muscles. It also has the added benefit of preventing incontinence or urine leaking, helping your intimate area to feel firmer.

  • Find the right muscles – The muscles you use in trying to stop the flow of urine when urinating are the pelvic floor muscles. Do take note, however, that it is not recommended to do pelvic floor exercises while urinating.
  • Relax and focus – Relax your body and concentrate on tightening the right muscles. Make sure that you are not flexing the muscles in your stomach, thighs, and buttocks. Breathe deeply and don’t try to hold it in.
  • Proceed with the exercise – When doing the exercise, it may be helpful to imagine that you’re peeing and are trying to stop the urine. Once this feels natural, hold and count for three seconds. Then, you can do it gradually, holding the contractions for as long as you can (no more than 10 seconds), before you relax and release for three seconds.
  • Repeat – Repeat the exercise 10 times in a row, for about 4 to 6 times a day. Just like other exercises, it can take time (up to 6 months) to build up strength and notice a difference.

If you’re having difficulties doing Kegel exercises, don’t hesitate to ask your doctor for help. They can offer you suggestions or feedback in identifying and exercising the right muscles.

Ultra Femme 360

Ultra Femme 360 is a nonsurgical treatment that can rejuvenate female’s intimate health. It can help improve vaginal laxity, enhance sexual satisfaction, and treat urinary stress incontinence. Continue reading to learn more about vaginal rejuvenation without cuts and needles.

How it works: Ultra Femme uses a handheld device that simultaneously delivers ultrasound energy and radiofrequency waves. It involves the insertion of a 360° disposable tip through the Introitus (opening) inside the vaginal canal.

The tip will then be moved alongside the whole length of the vaginal canal using slow repeating motion forward (towards Cervix) and backward (towards Introitus). The whole procedure can last for about 8 minutes.

Read our previous post for an in-depth look at Ultra Femme 360 and learn the things you need to know before getting vaginal rejuvenation.

How it benefits intimate health: It safely heats the vaginal tissues, treating both internal and external vaginal areas. This then stimulates collagen production and improves blood flow, leading to an immediate collagen production.

Ultra Femme triggers neocollagenesis or the process of building new collagen. This results in additional tightening and improved elasticity that can continue over the following three to four months.

What results to expect: The procedure can safely improve the overall appearance of your intimate area, which results in a safe and complete vaginal rejuvenation. Clinical studies suggest that it can also improve urinary stress incontinence or loss of bladder control.

How soon patients see results: You may see improvements after the first session, but overall results improve after the third procedure. Keep in mind that this varies from patient to patient and may depend on a number of factors. These include the severity of tissue laxity and your body’s response to the procedure.
