PicoCare is a US FDA cleared and CE marked picosecond laser device used for treating tattoo and pigmented lesions. It uses high peak power with short pulse duration to break down pigments into much finer micro pigment particles.

Relying on the Nd:YAG (neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet) laser system, PicoCare emits light pulses of four different wavelengths. This makes it effective not only for tattoos and pigmentation, but also for scars and uneven skin tone and texture. The combination of high power and shorter pulse duration allows for safe, fast, and effective treatment.

PicoCare features the HEXA MLA (Micro Lens Array) handpiece, which is a fractional system handpiece that can replace aggressive scar treatments like subcision. The handpiece can also be used for overall skin rejuvenation like improving skin tone, enlarged pores, uneven texture, and fine lines and wrinkles.

FEATURES:

● Breaks pigments into tiny particles using high peak power with shorter pulse duration
● Better results with little to no side effects (for pigmentation and tattoo removal)
● HEXA MLA handpiece that can replace subcision (aggressive scar treatments)

How fast is a picosecond (laser)?

When compared to nanosecond lasers (one billionth of a second), picosecond lasers (one trillionth of a second) have more photomechanical effect on the skin. The duration of a picosecond pulse can shatter pigments into microscopic particles with less photothermal effects. This then delivers better results with minimal to no side effect in ink removal and pigmentation treatment.

How does the PicoCare laser work?

The PicoCare Laser System works by delivering laser energy into the skin, which the pigments then absorb. This shatters or breaks down pigmentation into microscopic particles, which are removed over time through normal processes. The body’s immune system attacks the shattered particles of pigment and removes them efficiently and naturally.

The laser energy also helps the body to produce new collagen. This is beneficial for skin rejuvenation treatments and improvement of the skin’s overall tone and texture. It can also help with reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and other signs of aging.

FAQs

Is the PicoCare laser safe?

Yes, the treatment is safe. Specialized wavelengths and short duration pulses work in combination to reduce the heat delivered to the skin. This means less damage to the surrounding skin and tissues, with minimized risk of injury.

Are there any side effects?

You can expect some redness or for your skin tone to look pink in color for 4 to 5 days. The side effects, however, are much less than conventional laser treatment. It is important to keep your skin moisturized during this period, as well as protect the treated area from the sun.

Does the PicoCare treatment hurt?

There is some mild discomfort, like a prickling sensation during the treatment. A topical anesthetic cream may be applied if needed to increase patient comfort.

How many sessions will I need?

The average number of treatments is 3 to 5, but this will still depend on your skin concerns and condition. A consultation with our aesthetic doctor in Singapore will determine the number of sessions needed for your needs and goals.

Is the PicoCare laser system right for me?

PicoCare is a versatile laser system that is suitable for all skin types. It can help improve or treat different skin concerns such as acne scars, enlarged pores, fine lines, age spots, freckles, and other types of pigmentation. A consultation and assessment of your condition will determine the type of treatment that suits your needs.

What can I expect after the treatment?

As the skin heals, it is likely to look and stay pink in color. Once the healing process is complete, you can see an improvement in your skin appearance and quality. You can expect the results to continue to improve over the next six months.
