What’s the Difference Between Meso-Tox and Meso Botox?

While Meso-Tox and Meso Botox may have somehow similar looking and sounding names, they are two completely different treatments. Both involve the use of “tox”, short for neurotoxin/botulinum toxin, or brands such as Botox, Xeomin, and Dysport, but have different uses and treat different concerns.

Meso-Tox

This is a combination of two skin rejuvenating treatments: Dermapen 4 microneedling and intradermal botulinum toxin mixed with Meso-Glide or MG-Collection serums. MG serums are expert formulations specifically developed to enhance Dermapen microneedling procedures.

It can create 1920 holes per second, producing micro-injuries that facilitate faster wound healing, as well as millions of fine fractional channels. This procedure also helps stimulate collagen production and provides skin renewal.

When it comes to “tox”, we have different brands available, but mostly use Xeomin for Meso-Tox treatments. Xeomin works the same way as Botox, but is a purified form, free from any accessory or complexing proteins. This is said to help in preventing resistance or antibodies to the neurotoxin over time. 

Xeomin is mixed with the Meso-Glide serum, which is used as a glide for the skin needling treatment. With this treatment, the beneficial ingredients in the Xeomin and serum are infused into the top layers of the skin, providing a rejuvenating effect. Both also complement each other and can safely treat different concerns, such as: 

• Enlarged pores/oily skin
• Dull complexion
• Fine lines and wrinkles
• Uneven skin tone and texture
• Mild skin laxity

Since botulinum toxin is delivered at an intra-dermal level, you wouldn’t have to worry about looking fake or frozen. This technique can also deliver other benefits such as tightening pores and reducing oil or sweat production. Smaller amounts of it can also relax the superficial muscles and deliver a preventative and natural-looking anti-wrinkle effect.

Do take note that the results are not permanent; they last between 2 and 4 months. You can maintain its effects with repeat or periodic Meso-Tox treatments. You may notice some temporary side effects like redness (which will subside within 24 hours), swelling, and sensitivity to light.

Meso Botox

This treatment only involves Botulinum toxin or Botox, with the goal of giving the skin a refreshed and shine-free appearance. Instead of deeper injections into the muscles, Meso Botox delivers the neurotoxin superficially all over the face. This only means that it won’t affect the facial muscles or control facial expressions. 

Also referred to as Micro Botox, Meso Botox involves injecting multiple, smaller doses of Botox into the surface of the skin layer. It is used to target only the skin, which means it won’t temporarily freeze the muscle or completely smooth out fine lines and wrinkles. There are also more injection sites than regular Botox, but a small amount is injected into the treatment areas.

When injected at the top layer of the skin, Botox works differently. It won’t get rid of wrinkles, but it can tighten pores or make them look smaller, as well as reduce oil production and redness. This could also mean fewer acne or breakouts, resulting in clearer and smoother skin. 

Here are the benefits of Meso Botox:

• Reduces facial redness
• Smooths and tightens the skin
• Diminishes scarring
• Makes the skin glow

The effects of Meso Botox last the same time as regular botulinum toxin: about 3 to 4 months. Repeat treatments will help you maintain desired results. You may also notice temporary redness after the procedure, but this subsides within an hour.
