5 Simple Steps to Having, Gorgeous Summer Ready Skin

Summer is almost here!  But before you get ready for the beach and invest in that swimwear you’ve been eyeing for months now, you need to make sure that your skin looked smooth, blemish-free and prepped for summer.

Below are some tips to have summer-ready skin:

1. Hydrate

Summer is that time of the year when you’ll want to be in a tank top and a pair of shorts all day long due to the rising temperatures. You perspire a lot and your skin tends to dry out in the summer so be sure to hydrate well to keep it plump, fresh, and glowing.  Drink a minimum of 8 glasses of water every day and consume food high in water content such as fruits and vegetables.

2. Moisturize

One of the most common misconceptions, because the skin produces more oil as the temperature rises, is that there’s no need to use a moisturizer during the summer season. In fact, to help rehydrate the skin, you’ll need a good lightweight moisturizer to help seal the skin’s natural moisture in.  Ask your skin specialist about nourishing masks and moisturizers enriched with special ingredients with antioxidant and collagen-boosting properties such as Botanical Hydration Gel.

3. Exfoliate

To keep your skin healthy and young-looking, regular exfoliation should be part of your skin care regimen.  Exfoliation will help improve skin texture by gently peeling away the outermost layer that’s mostly rough skin, revealing the healthier skin underneath. It can also help keep your face and body acne-free as well, so you can confidently show off your skin and look great in a bikini.  However, skin doctors Singapore suggest that exfoliation should be done with utmost care and should not in any way irritate the skin or damage its integrity.

4. Remove unwanted hair

Perhaps the biggest concern for those who are prepping up their skin for the summer season is how to have a hairless bikini line. In fact, even men go for a “boyzilian” hair removal treatment to remove unwanted hair down there. While some might go for temporary hair removal options like painful brazilian and bikini waxing, shaving, and the use of depilatories, we all know that these might leave your skin red and irritated.

For effective and fuss-free hair removal in the bikini area, your best options would have to be LHE, laser hair removal, or IPL hair removal because they effectively remove hair with zero to minimal pain, and require no downtime.

Considered the most advanced and effective method of hair removal, LHE (Light & Heat Energy Hair Removal Technology) is also one of the safest permanent hair removal methods. It works by using very safe levels of light and heat energy to destroy the hair follicles.  What’s great about LHE is that it works for all skin types and has been proven effective for removing hair in the sensitive skin surrounding the bikini area

Another highly effective method for removing bikini line hair is IPL hair removal. This method delivers intense pulsed light to the hair pigments, arresting hair growth. An important feature of IPL hair removal is that a single pulse can destroy hundreds of hair follicles, resulting in great results.

In aesthetic clinics Singapore, they use the US FDA-approved  Cutera® Prowave IPL Hair Removal system to permanently reduce hair in the underarm, bikini, back, and leg areas.

And of course, there’s laser hair removal Singapore, another method that’s been clinically proven to remove unwanted hair. This method uses a concentrated beam of light to destroy hair follicles.

In laser clinics Singapore, they use Cutera CoolGlide because it works even for darker skin types and for those who have tanned skin. So if you have a darker skin tone and would want to have a hairless bikini line in preparation for the bikini season, consider getting this type of hair removal treatment. Cutera CoolGlide also boasts a cutting-edge cooling design and feature for added patient comfort and safety.

5. Use broad-spectrum sunscreen

To protect your skin from the harmful rays of the sun, you must remember to wear sunscreen every day, especially after exfoliation or when you just had permanent hair removal treatments such as LHE, Singapore IPL, or laser hair removal. It is important that unnecessary or over exposure to sunlight should be avoided or at least minimized after your hair removal treatment sessions.

To keep your gorgeous skin protected all summer, use Dr. Sylvia Skin Care Oil Free Sun Protection SPF 30 at least 30 minutes before going out in the sun, to protect you from damaging UVA and UVB rays. The product’s oil-free formulation also makes it a great sunscreen for sensitive skin.
