Looking for a non-invasive way to improve droopy or saggy eyelids? Now you can with PLASMAGE®! This new, non-invasive device can rejuvenate the skin in your lower and upper eyelids using plasma energy technology. It can minimize drooping eyelids, as well as lift and tighten the skin around your eyelids without cuts or stitches.
PLASMAGE® is a technology from Italy. It is developed as an alternative to Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) or the removal of excess skin, muscle, or fat to improve the appearance of the eyelids. With PLASMAGE®, however, you can correct excess eyelid skin with quick results and minimal side effects.
How does PLASMAGE® work?
Using patented Fractional Plasma, PLASMAGE® sublimates delicate tissues and areas with minimal pain and downtime. Plasma sublimation enables the treatment of skin concerns without cutting the skin. PLASMAGE® creates burns or dots of trauma on the eyelid skin using fractional plasma.
The plasma energy is generated through an electric discharge by using a device with a tip. It removes excess skin tissue using sublimation, with the Plasmage tip held away about 1 to 2 mm away from the skin surface. The electric discharge begins when the tip is close to the skin, but it does not directly touch the skin.
The electric discharge heats the tissue almost immediately, resulting in sublimation or evaporation. It only leaves a thermic effect on the treated area. This process heats the skin, which will then prompt it to increase collagen production. The result is shrinking and tightening of the skin around the eyes over time.
PLASMAGE® is the only device that can perform Blefaroplasma (eyelid tightening) with quick results. It only works on the treated area, so there is no damage to the surrounding tissues or the deeper layers of the skin.
Is the Plasmage treatment painful?
Patients may feel a warming and stinging sensation during the treatment. You may also experience swelling on the treated area, but this will disappear in 2 to 3 days.
What areas can be treated?
At Cutis Medical Laser Clinics, we offer Plasmage for non-invasive lifting and tightening of the upper and lower eyelids. However, Plasmage can also be used for removing or treating scars, stretch marks, wrinkles, keloids, excess skin, and other skin irregularities.
Is Plasmage only for women?
No. The treatment is suitable for both men and women looking to rejuvenate their upper and lower eyelids without going under the knife. It is also safe to use on all skin types.
How long does the procedure take?
On average, the treatment lasts between 30 and 60 minutes, depending on the size of the treatment area. A local anesthetic is also applied to numb the area before the procedure starts.
Is there any downtime after the procedure?
Swelling occurs after the treatment and will be noticeable during the first 2 to 3 days after the procedure. The treated area will then form a crust, which will fall off on its own over the next 5 to 7 days. Your skin will look slightly pink for a few days after the crust has fallen off. Complete skin renewal is seen after 6 to 8 weeks.
When will I see results?
Results can be seen immediately, but the visible swelling and redness may conceal them. You can see more improvements in the area about 8 weeks after the procedure. Optimum results are visible 5 to 6 months after the treatment.
What should you need to do after the treatment?
It is important to use sunscreen and wear protective sunglasses after the procedure. You should also keep the treated area as dry as possible to promote faster healing. Also, you should protect the eyelid skin from the sun by avoiding sun exposure and tanning booths for 7 to 8 weeks.
Do I need multiple Plasmage® treatments?
In most cases, one treatment is usually enough to lift and tighten the lower and upper eyelids. There are cases, however, where 2 or 3 sessions are required to achieve optimal results. Talking to an aesthetic doctor will let you know how many Plasmage sessions you need.
How long do the results last?
The results of Plasmage are long term, approximately 1 to 2 years. You can undergo repeat treatments in the future if necessary.
