What is Silhouette Soft® and how does it work?
Silhouette Soft thread lift is the first and only US FDA cleared absorbable thread in Singapore that combines two effects that are essential for skin rejuvenation – Lifting and Regenerating. Silhouette Soft’s double action combats the signs of aging by restoring smoother more toned skin and a more defined and shapely face.
The Lifting Effect
The gentle but visible lifting of the facial contours can be seen instantly. The facial outline is significantly changed restoring a well-defined shape in specific areas of the face and neck. This is the result of proper compression and elevation of the tissue at the time of adjusting the sutures.
The Regenerating Effect
After the procedure, Silhouette Soft’s regenerating effect takes place gradually as the natural substance, poly-L-lactic acid or PLA helps to increase the natural production of collagen in the skin over time. Therefore, the skin will gain elasticity and volume.
Polylactic acid (or PLA) has been used for many years in various pharmaceutical and medical applications such as suture thread, orthopaedic pins or bone fractures, and many others without complications.
What happens during a Silhouette Soft procedure?
The treatment takes around 30 minutes. After introduction of a small local anaesthetic, we insert the suture under the skin. No incision is required, as the suture is inserted using a very fine needle. It is held in place with absorbable cones oriented in opposite directions otherwise called bidirectional.
What are the areas to be treated?
Silhouette Soft® can be used to treat different parts of the face such as midface, lower jaw, cheeks and cheekbones; eyebrows and neck and for overall facial contouring.
