Have You Heard of VI Peel for Acne Scars and Pigmentation?

November 16, 2018

If you have been looking for an effective treatment for acne marks and pigmentation treatment that is safe and suitable to your acne-prone and combination skin, then it’s time for you to consider the VI Peel.

The VI Peel is a saving grace for those who desire smoother, healthier, clearer skin without any invasive procedure.

The VI Peel is a safe yet powerful chemical peel designed for the treatment of fine lines, acne scars, age spots, pigmentation, and uneven skin texture. With a blend of Retinoic Acid, Phenol, Salicylic Acid, Trichloroacetic Acid, Vitamin C, and other clinically-proven ingredients, the VI Peel acts as an effective peeling treatment that safely removes the damaged top layer of the skin promoting the cell rejuvenation of new, smoother and healthier skin.

How Does the VI Peel Procedure Works?

Before the procedure, vaseline will be applied to protect the sensitive areas of your face such as corners of the nose, eyes, and lips. Afterwards, your skin will be cleansed thoroughly to get rid of any makeup or excess oil.

The VI Peel solution will then be applied directly on the skin for two to three times or depending on how your skin reacts. As the solution is being applied, you may experience a slight stinging sensation but rest assured that this is normal and subside after a few minutes.

The procedure may last for an hour but the solution must stay on your skin for at least 4 hours. Your skin will have a sun-tanned look during this time but you can leave the aesthetic clinic and wash it off at home.

What to Expect After VI Peel?

Following your procedure, you will be provided with three home care products inclusive in the VI Peel pack. This includes a post peel cream, sunscreen, towelette, and a post care instructions on how to manage your skin during the peeling period.

The peeling normally takes place during the third day and can last for at least five to seven days. During the peeling process, you may experience some itchiness and dryness but you can use the post peel cream to soothe the skin.

During this period, your skin is on self-repairing phase making it very sensitive so remember to follow post-instructions on what you can and cannot do after your treatment. Among the important things to remember is:

  • Make sure not to pick on your skin or peel off any flaky skin prematurely as this can lead to scarring, redness, and pigmentation.

  • Avoid any rigorous exercise that can make you sweat at least 3-5 days after your peel as this may cause water blisters and can induce post inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

  • You may also want to avoid highly acidic food such as citrus fruits, tomatoes, and vinegar as this can cause possible irritation on the skin especially around the mouth area.

Once your skin has healed and the peeling is finished, you will notice a brighter, smoother and healthier skin with less visible acne marks and brown spots. Some patients even reported that their skin is more supple and the pores look tighter.

Who is a Good Candidate for VI Peel?

The VI Peel is effective on all skin types especially those who have acne-prone, oily and combination skin.

The VI Peel can be also used on several areas of the body, including the face, chest, and neck. After your first VI Peel, you may see visible improvements. However, the more noticeable results can be seen after three to five treatments.

Most chemical peel treatments should be spaced four to five weeks apart to allow the skin to properly heal. In Cutis Laser Clinics, we often combine VI Peel with Laser Genesis not only to improve the healing process but also provide a better outcome.

The Laser Genesis Skin Therapy is an FDA cleared procedure that uses non-invasive laser technology to safely, discreetly and effectively heals the skin and treat large pores, diffuse redness, and scars. You can expect to see subtle yet consistent results after each treatment, without unwanted side effects such as bruising or excessive skin irritation making it a great combination with VI Peel.

After your initial series of treatments, it is best to do a maintenance of VI Peel at least three sessions in a year to retain your the result.

Remember that although the results of the VI Peel can last for many months, your skin continues to age and can still get acne marks and brown spots due to stress, sun exposure, and other factors unless you give the proper care and attention it deserves.
