Is the treatment painful?
It is normal to feel some slight discomfort as the handpiece elevates the tissue temperature. The sensation is not painful but warm, which is similar to being on a sunbed. Also, the handpiece has a built-in cooling system to improve comfort.
How soon will I see the results?
Initially after the procedure, you may notice firmer-looking skin, which is partly due to the slight swelling of the skin. Repeated sessions will lead to more noticeable improvements over a period of 2 to 3 months.
Tightening effects are cumulative and may take several months to become visible. This is because it takes time for the skin to naturally build new collagen.
How many treatments will I need?
Most patients benefit from 4 to 6 sessions, spaced a few weeks apart. Your skin condition and goals will determine your custom plan. Those with more prominent skin laxity or deeper wrinkles, naturally, may require more treatments.
How long do the results of NIR skin tightening last?
Generally, results can last for a year or so, depending on the patient. Similar to the body’s own collagen, the newly created collagen will also break down over time due to the natural aging process. Repeated sessions help maintain the treatment’s youthful results.
Is there any downtime?
The entire procedure takes just 30 to 40 minutes, and there’s no significant downtime. You can return to work or your daily activities immediately after treatment. However, it is advisable to avoid heat treatments such as saunas, steam rooms, and exercise for 24 hours following treatment.
Are there any side effects?
Unlike peels or laser resurfacing, NIR Skin Tightening targets only the deeper layers of the skin, leaving the surface untouched. This means you can expect little to no side effects. Most patients experience mild redness or warmth in the treated area, which typically subsides within a few hours.
