Is IPL hair reduction painful?
You may feel a slight snapping or stinging sensation, similar to a rubber band against the skin. Most patients tolerate it well. A cooled handpiece helps reduce discomfort, especially in sensitive areas.
How many treatments will I need?
About 3 to 6 treatments are recommended, but this will still depend on a number of factors, including:
- Hair thickness and color
- Area being treated
- Skin type
- Individual hair growth cycles
Additional sessions may be required to disable the follicles because other hairs will enter the active growth phase at different times.
What results can I expect?
You may experience some hair regrowth about 3 to 7 days after the treatment. It is worth noting that these hairs are not regrowing but are being shed due to the treatment. Shaving is permissible, but don’t pluck or wax these hairs. The IPL system provides permanent hair reduction for lasting results.
What are the side effects?
You may experience some redness or mild swelling after the treatment, but this usually dissipates within several hours. In rare cases, blistering may occur. It is recommended to avoid artificial tanning, sun tanning, and tanning lotion until at least 6 weeks after your treatment course is completed.
Is IPL hair reduction permanent?
IPL offers long-term hair reduction, with many patients seeing 70–90% less hair after completing the full treatment course. Maintenance sessions may be needed depending on hair type and body area.
Is IPL safe for my skin type?
Our system is suitable for skin types I–IV. A consultation will help determine if IPL hair reduction in Singapore is the right choice for your skin and hair type.
