Looking back, 2022 has helped us grow in a lot of ways. We have continued fulfilling our goal of helping patients achieve their beauty, body, and skincare goals with scientifically proven and evidence-based aesthetic procedures.

2022 Milestones

We’ve welcomed new patients, continued serving existing ones, introduced new treatments and products, and used aesthetic technologies and innovations to improve patient safety and outcome.

Dr. Sylvia’s and the whole clinic’s success and achievements were marked by numerous awards from different organizations and award-giving bodies. It was also this year when our very own Dr. Sylvia was given recognition both locally and internationally and became in demand for a lot of medical talks, lectures, and summits.

Many of our recognitions were possible because of the dedication of our team and the trust and support of our clients. Here’s what we’ve achieved in 2022:

IN JANUARY, we won big (5 Gold, 1 Bronze) at the Expat Living Readers’ Choice Awards 2022. 

  • Gold: Best Medical Aesthetic Specialist
  • Gold: Best Facials
  • Gold: Best Aesthetic Treatments
  • Gold: Best Slimming and Shaping Treatments
  • Gold: Best Skincare Products
  • Bronze: Best Hair Removal

IN APRIL, Dr. Sylvia won big at the AMWC Aesthetic Medicine Awards 2022. She emerged as the winner of the best clinical case in “Non-Surgical Facial Rejuvenation”, the hottest contested category with 19 finalists from different countries. She was also one of the finalists in the Best Non-Surgical Body Shaping category

In 2022, the AMWC Aesthetic Medicine Award recognized 12 physicians in various categories. More than 1,000 doctors from 60 countries submitted their cases, 500 were shortlisted, and 135 became finalists; Dr. Sylvia was honored to be chosen as one of the winners and finalists in two different categories. 

IN MAY, Dr. Sylvia gave a talk at the 2nd episode of the Allergan Aesthetics Medical Affairs medical seminar “ASIA Journal Club with Authors”. This was an online event aimed at healthcare professionals across Asia and focused on the Aging & Rejuvenation Trends within the continent

Dr. Sylvia shared from her research “Characteristics of Patients Seeking and Proceeding with Non-Surgical Facial Aesthetic Procedures”, which was published in the peer-reviewed journal, Clinical, Cosmetic and Investigational Dermatology in 2021.

IN JULY, Cutis received multiple awards from Allergan Aesthetics. We were awarded:

  • Facial Aesthetics Platinum Award 2022
  • Body Contouring Gold Award 2022
  • Prestige Award 2022

It was also in JULY when Dr. Sylvia (with co-authors Gunther Scherz and Prof. Helen Smith published a scientific paper entitled “Perceived Stress and Interest in Non-Invasive Aesthetic Procedures during the COVID-19 Pandemic in the Clinical, Cosmetic and Investigational Dermatology, an open access peer-reviewed medical journal.

IN AUGUST, Dr. Sylvia was featured in the newsletter of the Primary Care Research Network of the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. In this article, Dr. Sylvia described the advance consent mechanisms as a part of her practice. 

She published the paper “Characteristics of Patients Seeking and Proceeding with Non-Surgical Facial Aesthetic Procedures” together with Prof. Helen Smith, who was leading the Primary Care Research Network.

It was also in AUGUST when Dr. Sylvia gave a talk at the Aesthetic Medicine & Surgery Conference at Sime Darby Convention Center, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Her talk “Toxin’s Myth and Facts: Differentiation and Immunogenicity” focused on the differentiation of toxins in a systematic way.

IN SEPTEMBER, Dr. Sylvia was named one of Tatler’s Most Stylish in 2022. This recognized the best dressed in the region and those who embody the magazine’s style ethos. Dr. Sylvia is recognized for being impeccably dressed as an aesthetic doctor while also making others look flawless and feel their best.

IN NOVEMBER, Dr. Sylvia gave several talks and lectures at the Allergan’s Medical Affairs Summit 2022 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This summit is targeted at physicians in Singapore, Malaysia. and the Philippines.

These include:

  • We are Different: Why NO 2 toxins are the same differentiations of the most widely used toxins on various important aspects
  • Clinical Differentiation of Botulinum Toxin A Preparations – an Asia Pacific Lecture that also included questions and answers regarding the neurotoxin’s dosage, formulation, and immunogenicity.
  • Her Botulinum Toxin A Preparations lecture has been featured in the Allergan Aesthetics newsletter and was given to aesthetic doctors in the Asia Pacific.
  • CoolSculpting: Best to Stick to the Original – a talk about the various body treatments such as Cryolipolysis, RF, Ultrasound, Acoustic Shockwave, and Muscle Stimulation Therapies and in particular about combinations for best outcomes and highest patient satisfaction.

As we welcome 2023, we hope to achieve more by providing quality services to our new and existing patients. We will continually challenge ourselves to achieve the highest possible patient satisfaction.
